Narrative
KING GEORGE COUNTY, VA – A 73-year-old man from Westmoreland County died Wednesday afternoon following a rollover crash involving two other vehicles near southeast King George.
Virginia State Police responded to the multi-vehicle accident on a span of Route 3 near Chummy Lane at around 3:47 p.m.
Officials say the victim was driving a 2016 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on the highway (Kings Highway) when, for reasons still unclear, the Jeep veered past the center line and entered westbound traffic. Moments later, the Jeep collided with a trash truck, which then caused the Jeep to roll over and strike a big rig.
First responders pronounced the driver of the Jeep deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were immediately reported.
State Police continues to investigate.
