Narrative
CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, VA – Two vehicles collided head-on Wednesday evening near Bon Air, claiming the life of a 65-year-old woman and leaving three other people injured.
The fatal wreck took place on a stretch of Buford Road and was first reported at around 7:15 p.m.
Chesterfield County Police Department officials said two vehicles were traveling in opposite directions and struck each other head-on. The force of the crash sent both vehicles into the front yard of a nearby home.
Four people suffered serious injuries and were rushed to an area hospital, where the 65-year-old woman, a Powhatan County resident, was pronounced deceased. The three other victims were continuing to recover at the hospital at the time of WRIC’s report Thursday evening, August 15.
An investigation into the circumstances of the accident was underway.
