Narrative
AUGUSTA COUNTY, VA – A 44-year-old man lost his life Monday evening as a result of a single-vehicle collision off Pine Bluff Road in north Waynesboro.
The fatal accident took place near the intersection with State Route 612 at around 6:53 p.m.
Virginia State Police said the man, a local resident, was operating a 2002 Ford Ranger northbound on Pine Bluff Road when, for reasons still being investigated, the vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway and collided with a tree.
The male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, confirmed officials. He was found to have not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the wreck.
No other occupants or vehicles appear to have been involved.
