Narrative
ARLINGTON, VA – A 32-year-old woman sustained fatal injuries Monday in a four-car collision in central Arlington.
The accident happened shortly after 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Wilson Boulevard and North Vermont Street, which is just west of VA-120 and east of Fields Park.
Police say that an eastbound pickup crashed into a white sedan as the latter vehicle entered Wilson Boulevard from North Vermont Street. This initial wreck caused two other vehicles to collide at the intersection.
The driver of the sedan, identified as Xuewai He of McLean, died after transport to an area hospital.
Medics transported the driver of the pickup truck to the hospital with critical injuries.
Authorities say that the driver of the pickup appeared to be speeding when the crash occurred.
