LORTON, VA – A fatality has been reported in connection to a major accident that happened Wednesday in south-central Fairfax County.
Authorities responded to the intersection of Ox Road and Davis Drive in Lorton sometime before 6:36 p.m. This is about 15 miles southwest of Alexandria.
Police haven’t shared any details about circumstances of the crash except to say that it involved two vehicles. Photos taken at the scene depict a black vehicle with heavy front-end damage, a detached trailer, and a boat in the roadway.
A female driver died from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials have not yet released her name to the public.
It’s unclear if anyone else was hurt in the wreck.
Police asked drivers to avoid the intersection while crews worked at the scene.
