Narrative
AUGUSTA CO., VA – A 67-year-old man died Thursday afternoon in a wrong-way crash in southeast Augusta County.
The accident occurred on Tinkling Spring Road near Christians Creek Road. This is just southeast of Staunton and north of Stuarts Draft.
Police say that a southbound BMW 325i sedan entered the northbound side of the roadway and collided head-on with a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Mark E. Lotts of Stuarts Draft, died at the scene of the wreck.
Medics transported the other driver, who was unrestrained, to an area hospital with serious injuries.
